On an x-y plot, an additional data point is added by adjusting the data ranges for the x and y variables. The new data point has the highest x value in the plot, and appears during editing. Deselecting the plot makes the new data point disappear. If the size of the plot is extended to the right, the data point appears. The plot can then be resized and the new data point is still there.
