Libre office was working great untill recently on both my Macs, with OS Sierra 10.12 LibO version 5.1.6. was installed on both. Great office package to use LibO. Even donated a lil while ago, because I appreciate all the hard open source work u guys do.
So I updated to LibO 5.2.2 recently, like I always do after there is an update available. I also install the languagepack for Dutch like always. After starting up it workked fine the first time. But after closing it and starting it up a seccond time it just wont work anymore. LibO just will not start up again and I get an error rapport every time. After these persistant crashes I tried several ways to fix it myself. Cause I have seen this problem before with LibO and OSX. A new clean install usually works after removing all old files first. But this time with this newest release 5.2.2 that trick doesn’t work anymore.
- A new install the regular way with replacing the aplication in the App.folder results in crashes after a first good start of the aplication. Aftyer that 1st succesful start the aplication refuses to start again and gives an error rapport over and over and over again.
- This happens with and without the language pack installed, so that doesn’t make any difference.
- Same thing happens with a new clean install after I removed all the old files.
- Downloading the new version again and installing the fresh downloaded version of 5.2.2 : same no difference.
- Finnaly I thought I’d be clever, and downloaded the older version 5…1.6 again. Thinking there would probably be a bugg in this new release, but at least at than I could work again with LibO. But guess what? Now the older version also does the same and crashes after a succesful 1st start. Al starts after crash. Also after installing this old version the ways described before. I copied the errorrapports but I can’t upload them cause I dont have enough karma on here yet.
Recently I did do an update on my OS Sierra, on 27 oktober: macOS Sierra 10.12.1 which improves stability and security. And this date seems to be crucial because since than “I believe” crashing began.
Please help!!!
