Libre applications have grey on grey icons (not viewable)

I am a new user (so maybe my fault).

ANY libre application I open (calc, writer, etc) is basically unusable as the ribbon/menu of icons at the top are blank. It seems as though they are coloured grey on a grey background (making them invisible).

My guess is that this is something to do with a theme or style,
I am running Linux Mint (latest vsn) and Libre Office 7.3.7.2

If only there a way to share a screenshot, you could see

UPDATE: I have been playing with the linux themes, and I find that the contents of the icons in Libre Office are FIXED as a light grey colour, thus the only time that they can be seen is if you set the system to have a black/dark theme. which I dislike (like an old CRT monitor).

Any ideas

Mark

You’re probably right but note we can’t see your screen. So, edit your question (= modify it, don’t use a comment) to add OS name and LO version. Which theme have you configured in your OS? Dark themes were known to cause issues. This has been improved in recent releases, therefore it is important you quote the complete version number (or post data from Help>About LO).
