Libre Draw Print difficulties

Hi There I am a brand new user to Libre Office on a Rasberry Pi using stock Raspbian.
I have inserted a picture into a page in Draw (I want to print some xmas cards).
The page is set-up as a non standard size 5.77" x 11.69 (exactly half of A4 vertically). I have set my printer to the same document size.
On attempting to print the card I am using goes through the printer but just feeds thru’ with no attempt at printing. When I check page properties in print it only offers A4 as default but with instructions to use printer defined settings.
What am I doing wrong? There are other page sizes ‘US letter’ etc. but nothing that corresponds to the size of card I wish to print on.
Is there a way to set-up a new document size?
Any help greatly appreciated. I’m 73 and although fairly OK with MSOffice in Windows, this has got me stumped

You tagged your question writer while it appears your question should have been tagged draw, but in fact could also be commonas it is really about printing.

Suggestion: fool the printer by having your Draw page in A4. Just put your image in the upper half of the sheet (in other words, your bottom margin is half-A4 high. Send this page to your printer which is fed with A5 landscape sheets. Usually printers are mechanically set for sheet width, not sheet length. Width of A5-landscape =width of A4-portrait.

Many thanks, I didn’t understand what the ‘tag’ was for. It would appear, the problem is a combination of my printer and Libre Draw.
If I do as you suggest, it will print out the size I require for the card I have, but only on a full sheet of A4. once I alter the printer guides to the actual card size, it just feeds thru’ as before.
I also tried loading it with A4 paper, but with the narrower card on top of the paper. That didn’t fool it, it just fed straight through as before.
Looks like I shall have to buy some A4 Card, and do it that way!
Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Attaching it to a A4 sheet does not change the issue.

If it doesn’t print on a standard A4 sheet, then the problem is in the printing process. Can you print with Draw? with another application?

If nothing comes out of the printer, how did you configure the printer in Raspbian? Have you used some intermediate utility like CUPS? In CUPS, your printer can be a local one (e.g. a USB or serial one) or a network one (several protocols available).

In addition, the driver can send the file in various “languages” (PDF, PostScript, HP, …). What can happen is the printer doesn’t understand the “language” of the print job if not correctly configured.

Check how you configured the printer, notably the selected driver (many printers can be accessed with several drivers in CUPS, not just one).
