Libre Office 4.3.5 is insecure and does not install on Mac Book Pro

OS X 10.9.5

“LibreOffice” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.

So it seems your software is insecure. Maybe I should remove the old version and use
another product, like open office. You should warn people about this on you web page.

I think you don’t know what you’re doing. Besides, it makes it no less secure than your toilet.

LO 4.3.5 DOES install on a Macbook Pro. And the fact that Apple try to encourage everybody to only use apps installed through their App Store (which generates income for them) DOES NOT mean that the software is insecure. See Apple’s own support page: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14369

Disclosure: I really like my macbook pro. Not so keen on most Apple software. I much prefer LO and other open source tools.

You did not explain in detail which steps you took to install the SW. I recently installed LibO 4.3.4.1 on a MacBook Pro and it work like a charm. ASAP I will upgrade to 5.3.5.2

Maybe this link provides you some more information: Advice re: using a ‘deprecated’ Mac OS X version with current LO (v. 4.3.5)

In order to install, you should go to system preferences and in page “security” you must change the checkbox to “from all developers”. Afterwards you will be able to launch the welcome-window.

Thank you. I opened an account just an upvote here but there is a limit. I couldn’t.
