Libre Office can't find MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll

Hello.
I installed the latest version of Libre Office (25.2.0.3) on a Windows 10 64bit computer. The installation went fine.

After starting the program, I get the message “MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll not found”. I reinstalled the program as suggested in the prompt - it did not help.

I couldn’t find this MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll file on my system, so I installed the Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package (14.42.34433.0 build) from here (link provided on this Microsoft site). The MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll file was successfully saved to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ directory. I have modified environment variable by adding C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ path. No success. I still can’t get LibreOffice to work. Can anyone help?

You installed 32-bit package. From the correct site, but 32-bit. Use the one for 64-bit.

Thanks, Mike. I posted a similar thread yesterday. I checked for responses to my thread, and while there were none, your response to gordom solved my problem. I can use LibreOffice again. Thanks much.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I mixed up the packages indeed. After installing the 64bit version, everything works perfectly. mikekaganski thanks a lot for your help.

I downloaded the 64 bit package and am having the same message come up. I even did it twice (removed and re-downloaded it all)…please help!

The 25.2.1 release build is posted now. That has the corrected packaging to correctly install the MSVCP140 runtime. Suggest you remove your 25.2.0.3 install and install the 25.2.1.2 build. Better than the work around alternative of installing the correct flavor 64-bit build of the runtime.
