I was working on a LO Writer document, and suddenly LO crashed - had 3 Writer documents up, and one Calc document. I was like, OK, I’ll just click on LO icon in my taskbar, the handy dandy trusty LO recovery thing-a-ma-bobber will pop up, I will click on recover all, then click finish, and bada bing bada boom — I will get my documents back up! Right? NOPE!!!
LO immediately crashed. Did this over and over and over again - ad nauseam. Figured OK, something got corrupted. Let’s just reinstall LO and that bad boy will be gettin’ jiggy with stuff again in no time! Right? NOPE!!! Still crashing. LO main screen comes up, with a number of recent documents showing in the window. Click on one and bada boom bada bing — she fires up and we are rockin’ and rollin’ again. Right? NOPE!!!
So, I can get LO to come up, and I can see a list of recent documents right. But I can’t get any of them to work, as soon as I click on one, BAM!!! LO crashes. Shore would appreciate some help here. Thankee kindly
Oh, I found a couple of posts about it crashing, and supposed fixes. One was under options> LibreOffice > general and untick the box for “check for default file associations on startup”. That gets us rocking again! Right? NOPE!!!
The other one was to go to options > LibreOffice > view and uncheck the box “use skia for all rendering”. That gets us rockin’ again. Right?! NOPE!!!
So, I don’t know what is causing the crashing, but I hope someone can help me fix this problem. I want to be able to use my LibreOffice again and get back to editing my documents !! Thanks for any assistance anyone can give on this problem.
