Libre office documents in DOC format sent via email cannot be printed

I have just installed LibreOffice on my new MACBook Air. When I send a document via email, the recipient can only view the document, not print it. I reports as locked.
Partial workaround is for recipient to save doc from e-mail, then open and print saved copy.

This annoying and cumbersome, how do I correct this locking issue?

I looked at disabling the UseLocking setting via Expert Configuration, and setting org.openoffice.Office.common\Misc to false, but this operation does not seem to be available on this install (25.8.1.1 (AARCH64).
MAC OS version is Sequoia 15.6.

It is nothing to do with the document you sent. Word won’t open documents from email, they have to be saved to disc first. Because the document is inside an email the email program has effectively locked it.

If your recipient had LibreOffice then it wouldn’t be a problem.
