I have an ellipse shape. It is divided into 4 parts by lines and I would like to set the background color of each quadrant independently. Is this possible in Draw or is there some workaround to achieve this? Thanks!!

You have to create the ellipse, duplicate it four times (all in the same place), then create a rectangle, which would cover the part which you would like to crop out. Now select one rectangle and one ellipse and choose from menu: Converting (or changing or something) → Shapes → Intersection. Repeat 3 more times.
