Libre Office Impress soffice.bin

Hey there,

I am preparing a presentation for school and don’t know how I did it, but the slide pan is not just gone. I somehow sperated it from the normal window of impress. But when I close the window the small one closes as well. How Can I put them back together???

I’ll add a screenshot so you can see what I mean.

Thanks in advance!

Please specify the operating system used and the LibreOffice version. Thank you.

There are the following ways to dock the slide area to the left side:

  1. you grab the slide area with the mouse at the top window frame, click-hold-drag the slide window to the left, until a gray frame appears and release the mouse button.

78956_73 HB Impress Slide area - drag

  2. In the View>Slide Pane menu, click to hide the slide pane.
In the View>Slide Pane menu, click so that the slide pane is visible and docked.

With me:

Version: 7.3.4.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 728fec16bd5f605073805c3c9e7c4212a0120dc5
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL

Ctrl+Double-Click on some empty space, for instance the area below the title bar or try Ctrl+Shift+F10 while the window has the input focus.

Thanks a lot! The Ctrl+shift+F10 was the key and now its docked again.

I can ‘float’ the panel by dragging out of its normal position. To restore it, I drag it back to the edge of the main window.

I already tried that. It doesn work.
But thank you anyway.

Something looks wrong, the small window should be titled Slides not soffice.bin, but maybe that is a result of dark theme.

If the window doesn’t redock using Villeroy’s suggestions below (and shows soffice.bin) you might have some corruption in the user profile, see LibreOffice user profile - The Document Foundation Wiki

BTW, if you want to know about the inner workings of a watch, see Mechanical Watch – Bartosz Ciechanowski (I have no connection to site). Not Rolex either but principles similar

Hey @EarnestAl thanks a lot for your advice!
I’ll try another profile or a new presentation.
