the version of libre office spread sheet takes for ever to recalculate and respond even to enter data in a cell takes for ever. what did they do to the program to make it work so slow I feel like ni working in windows 3.1 environment with the soft ware

64 bit processor
memory 4gb
both versions libre version 3.6.1 and 3.6.3.1 same thing
whats considered a large range for conditional formatting didn’t have this problem until I installed libre version 3.6.1 and am considereing going back to back to version 3.4.1
Can you please open a bug report for that. Actually the conditional format did not change in this area so the performance regression must have an additional reason.
thats very little information to work on. Check you task manager to confirm whether LO is actually causing the lags or something else.
If you find LO to be culprit, then you might want to find which latest version works properly. And then check the changelog of next version. That might help in pin pointing what change in the application has lead to your problem.
Is there large ranges with conditional formatting?
The performance problem you mentioned in your bug report are old and have been like that for years. Sadly we have some other performance problems in 3.6 that we don’t yet understand.
