Libre Office Stops Working

I have been using Libre/Open Office for some years now. After a while the Writer just stops working. A new page will open but I cannot drop a curser on it. I can usually open and edit older documents but cannot write a new one. I usually uninstall and reinstall and this is okay for a while then it happens again. This has happened on Windows 8, Windows 10 on my PC. However, I am using a brand new laptop with Windows 11 and have downloaded the most up to date version of Libre Office and after two days it has done the same. I can open older files but cannot create new ones. This has been happening for years now. I cannot keep uninstalling and reinstalling. Is there an answer to this problem, or should I just dig out my old Microsoft Office disks?

Because it is on-going over years and computers, it might be a conflict with other software that was also kept across the years and computers.
I recall that a niche web browser did affect LibreOffice in a previous question. I think there was also a security product that behaved badly.

Another possibility could be a font issue. If you add or remove fonts while LibreOffice is open then it can freeze for five minutes or more.
If Liberation fonts or Open Symbol font are removed (for tidiness) then LibreOffice might act strangely as they are required. Re-installing LibreOffice will re-install those fonts. Possibly, going to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, right clicking LibreOffice and selecting Repair will restore the fonts.

It might be a corruption of the user profile but the question would be why would it get corrupted?
