Since the last update of windows a few days ago libre office will not open unless run as administrator in windows. Likewise files will not open unless I open the office first and then click the file. Normally I can just click the file and Libre office opens it. Been around and around with window UAC and my Norton Virus Protection but nothing works. It is frustrating doing the extra steps to open a spreadsheet or word document. Thank you in advance
You tagged you question with base, this means the database module of LibreOffice, Base. Maybe you could retag it to common if that is what you intended.

I would guess that this is partly a Norton issue and partly a Windows issue, but it might be an installation issue.
Did you install LibreOffice just for the you or for all users?

Note that you might need to add soffice.bin to the Allowed List, navigate to C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\ and start typing the name
Windows
Click Start menu > Settings > Apps > Default Apps > LibreOffice x.x and for each file type list choose whether to open with LibreOfffice or leave with another program. Select the program and then click the button Set default.
