Libre Writer not displaying objects

Hello,
When I open Libre Office Writer it will show most of the icons, however no text shows up when I start to type. Also when I click a menu bar, all that shows up are dashes and no text.

I have uninstalled and re-downloaded the program but the problem still persists.

Any suggestions?

Hello, I am unable to view anything in Libre Office, no text shows. It is all just dashes, even when I bring my cursor over an Icon, instead of stating what that icon is, it is just blank. I am trying to upload a screen shot but I need more points in order to upload.
