LibreOffice 26.2 - SMB share - File locking abnormality

Good evening,

Yesterday I updated to version 26.2 and I’m finding it’s having issues with files being locked as read only on my NAS share (SMB) when they weren’t in previous Libreoffice versions.
(I can’t remember the old version, sorry.)

When saving or creating a new file they get set as read only with the lock file remaining in the directory after closing the program.
Such would disappear before and still does in PC side directories.

After opening again and clicking the edit button, should I try to save, it performs a ‘save as’ instead and I have to overwrite the file.

This occurs for all all programs, draw, impress, calc, writer, etc.

Operating system: Windows 10 22H2.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

It sounds like tdf#170297 & tdf#170615

I did too.

Having exactly the same problem after upgrading from 25.8.4 to 26.2, two machines on Win11 Pro save properly on local but after opening any LO file on our shared Win 10 machine the first save sets the file properties to read only, has created many problems for us with multiple file copies with a number or time tacked on to be able to keep working without resetting the file permissions on the Win 10 machine for every save. I’ll post if I find a working solution, next step is to downgrade back to 25.8.4 and test…other applications such as Adobe acrobat and Gimp are behaving normally.
NOTE: Changing to new LO profile with 26.2 did not change the above behaviour.
(Close LibreOffice.
Rename %APPDATA%\LibreOffice\4\user %APPDATA%\LibreOffice\4\user.bkp
LibreOffice starts with brand-new settings.
Open the files in question.)
Reverted to 25.8.4 and deleted a lot of leftover lock files.
Still had some problems until setting backup files to be saved in same folder as open file.
Now working OK.

Yes, me too!

We have a “Shared Folder” from a normal PC to 5 other normal private computers. When accessing files and editing files from other computers, we have the same problem.

All other computers are WINDOWS 11 (25H2).

So far, only problem in LIBREOFFICE files
