Downloaded and tried installing via Admin. cmd this MSI and will not work.
I then downloaded 4.2.0 MSI and worked fine.
My machine:
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel(R) Core™ i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz
RAM: 8 BG
From where did you download? Did you try to download from a different source? I always use: http://www.libreoffice.org/download
What is the error message you get? Maybe there was a problem in downloaded file. Redownload the file and try again.
@ROSt53: I downloaded from here: http://www.libreoffice.org/download I picked the ‘Main installer 210 MB’ link

@L-user: The actual error message is: BIG RED “X” This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
I have used the commands of:
msiexec /i LibreOffice_4.2.1_Win_x86.msi AND
LibreOffice_4.2.1_Win_x86.msi
