No use downloading this release if you are having this problem with LibreOffice.
Added 10/05/16
Tried the pre-release version 5.1.6.1. It is experiencing the same problem as prior releases for me.
Added 10/12/16
Removed all previous versions and installed the LO Dev build 5.2.3.1.
As with previous releases the program opened the first time and then crashed the next time.

I had seen reports that the graphic card switching was causing this crash.
When to Preferences>Energy Saver. With the power adapter button selected I unchecked âAutomatic graphics switchingâ. This will cause the computer to always use the high-performance graphics.
After making this change LO will open without a problem. So for me the macOS Sierra problem has something to do with the graphic card and which one is being used. When the AMD Radeon HD 6770M is used all the time there is no problem with LO starting.
