When you place the cursor on the Libreoffice icon in the taskbar a list of recent doc’s pop up alone the bottom of the screen. When you get too many it changes to a list. Can you shut off the images screen and use the list instead? Thanks
The start screen, while a good idea, is quite inflexible. Somewhere along the line I proposed an option for list format, to save space, and to have the ability to fix files there permanently. There could be a category for often-used templates also. All that could fit if there were a list format option. The idea wasn’t well-received, to my surprise. Maybe if others also raise the issue it will gain traction.
I, too, am very surprised that your idea was not well-received. As a user, I find a list to be much more useful than a field of small images, as it could include such informative things as file size, dates of origin and modification, full path to location, etc. The idea of fixing often-used files in the list is also excellent. We need a movement to see this accepted!
Someone said they didn’t want to duplicate the function of a file manager. But that completely overlooks the value of placing recent and pinned documents in an centralized, easily-accessed file manager setting. I think this would be a major step forward.
While this is an excellent idea, it should be discussed at bugzilla. Post the link to your issue here, then people who agree can participate in the debate. Don’t expect much of that, the list of issues to be fixed is huge, the number of developers small, and they may have very different ideas about what’s a good enhancement and what isn’t than the average user.

I would have, except I couldn’t find my issue. So I thought it would be best if someone else started a new one.
