Libreoffice 7.4 OSX version compatability

Hello folks.

Long time user/lover of LibreOffice. I cannot thank everyone enough for this awesome project.

I do have a question though. I just pulled down the 7.4 build today onto my OSX system. This machine (for a number of reasons) is running an older OSX 10.12.

When I mount the installer I am unfortunately faced with the crossed-out executable. When I attempt to execute the application anyway, I get informed that the minimum requirements are OSX 10.13. The release notes however specify that the base requirements are OSX 10.10 and higher.

Is the executable specifically built to enforce the 10.13 requirement, or are the release notes incorrect?

Thanks,
-Chris

You tagged your question base meaning you have problems with the database interface component. This may prevent knowledgeable contributors from looking to your question. To give a larger exposition to it, retag as common as this seems a global LO issue.

My apologies for the mis-tag. Thank you for pointing that out.

Thank you all for the clarifications on the versioning.

We need to cleanup all the mess. The system requirements are incorrect in README; on download page; and are clarified in release notes and in wiki.

So according to wiki you may either use LibreOffice 7.3.x.x on your version of the OS or you need an update for MacOS first.
.
Note the next “step” mentioned in release notes: In February 2023 the required version will climb to 10.14 as minimum (for version 7.5.x)

I updated the System requirements web page and sent patches for readme.xrm in 7.4, 7.5 and master.
