Have other Mac users seen this problem?

I’ve downloaded and installed LibreOffice for Intel Mac v3.6.2.2 three times, each time with the exact same results. I have never seen this message before on OS X:

“LibreOffice.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash. . . . Safari downloaded this file today at … from www.libreoffice.org."

Trashing all the preferences and Application Support files before running LibreOffice does not affect the problem.

I’m going to try the current beta. If that also fails, I will fall back to v3.6.0 which works fine.

My Mac: MacBook 13" 2006/11, 2 GHz Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.7.5 Server, 3 GB RAM.

Verified! That makes two different error caused by Gatekeeper (found in 10.7.5 and 10.8.x) when opening a new app that has not been signed with an Apple security certificate. I’ve seen other apps throw this same error as well. What’s particularly odd here is that the usual method of working around Gatekeeper’s refusal to allow an app to open Does Not Work. (That being the use of ‘Open’ under the contextual menu when clicking on the app). That’s a big surprise. Instead, indeed, you have to turn off Gatekeeper entirely, choosing ‘Anything’, to get this, and similar strangely unsigned apps, to open. I’m going to document this at my Mac-Security blog. One short-term solution is buried in this document about running on OS X Mountain Lion:

It appears there is a problem with the way LibreOffice is signed so Gatekeeper is blocking it. Go to the “Security & Privacy” settings in System Preferences and set Gatekeeper to the “Anywhere” setting. After you have successfully launched LibreOffice, you can change the Gatekeeper setting back to a more secure option and LibreOffice will continue to run properly.

This got things running on my Mac. (OS X 10.7.5, Core 2 Duo, LibreOffice 3.6.3.2)
The complete error message is: ““LibreOffice.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.”

I’m running into this issue in Mac OSX 10.6.8. The disk image is “not recognized.” That being said, there is no Gatekeeper in 10.6, and I have no security features currently turned on.

Same issue, here, with OS X 10.8.3 and LO 4.02. The suggested solution did work.
