I created a database based on an .ods file. I created a report and saved it. everything worked properly. Now I realised that I need some of the fields to auto-grow, so I tried editing the report and saved it. When I open the report again, the changes have been reverted.
I tried creating a new report and copy-pasting all the content of the previous report but the problem is still there.
What is happening? Any idea how to solve this issue?
Property “AutoGrow” is a littel bit tricky. It will only be saved for the first field in a row. So set the first field on the left to “AutoGrow” and all fields in a row will autogrow.
It only works well if all fields are positioned at the same y-level. Also all fields should be set with the same height.
Taking the hint, I aligned the label and the field and set autogrow to on again and the setting stuck. Managed to save it and open it again with the setting still on.
The weird thing was that, if I executed the report after setting autogrow to on from the menu it seemed to work as it should, but if I saved it and closed it and ran the report from the main screen or even if I tried editing the report again, the setting was reset. It seems like a bug to me and if it isn’t the behaviour is very confusing.
Yes, behavior is confusing, but this is the only new function in ReportBuilder since it has been integrated into LibreOffice.
