LibreOffice Base Data Content could not be loaded JDBC FileMaker Pro 18?

I’m new to LibreOffice (Version: 6.2.4.2 (x64) Win 10 Pro)
I have a test FileMaker Pro 18 Advanced Database I want to use as a data source (populate a spread sheet generate a graph etc) . Connecting to FileMaker via JDBC . That works.

Queries from Database->Tools->SQL…Execute SQL Command works.

Building a Query
All my LibreOffice Base queries return.

LibreOffice Base
Data Content could not be loaded
[FileMaker][FileMaker JDBC] No results were returned by the query.

SQL Status: 02000
Error code: 27110

I’m guessing “generated” SQL statements don’t match up with what I’m “hand coding”.

I tried editing the content.xml queries. That had no effect. I tried a lot of other things as well. Same error message. Does LO log SQL statements it generates? I’d quit and do it another way with another solution but the “hand typed” queries from Database->Tools->SQL…Execute SQL Command works.

Any thoughts?

I can run queries fine

[FileMaker][FileMaker JDBC] No results were returned by the query.

Hi, Did this issue get resolved for you? If yes, would you please share the solution.

Hello,

Some of what is stated seems jumbled but I’ll make an educated guess here.

If you are having problems running a Select statement in the Query section of Base but the same statement works in Tools->SQL... then it is because of the interpreter. There is an icon on the toolbar - Run SQL command directly. (in SQL View). Turn this on and statement should run.

With this off, interpreter is using HSQLDB v1.8 as the basis.

Also, be aware, the Base file must be registered for you to access from Calc, Writer or other modules.

Edit:

Base documentation found here → LibreOffice Base Handbook

Thanks!

I don’t see any way to add an image to this post. In my LO install I have NO TOOLBAR in SQL View. Nothing. No grayed out icons etc. It’s a blank white dialog box with dialog box name and minimize, maximize, exit. It’ll prompt me to save my query when I hit the X – that’s all I get.

Being new (Version: 6.2.4.2 (x64) Win 10 Pro) LO user (yesterday-2019-060-12) I thought you get what you pay for and I’m not writing SQL in LO that’ll happen in an IDE.

I’m not sure I want to debug this further.
It seems like an LO installer issue. I was looking for the command “Run SQL command directly” just could not find it. I was aware of the HSQLDB interpreter as the basis (thanks to this forum)

I really appreciate your quick response thanks for that. We can consider this questions closed.

Turns out the c:\users*\AppData\LibreOffice\4\user\config\soffice.cfg\modules\dbquery\menubar is corrupt and unreadable.
After a bit of hardware (chkdsk etc) finagling I was able to remove the offending folder/file .

I tried downgrading to LO 6.1.6 and had the same SQL View issue no menu bar. That is when I discovered the uninstaller could not remove the ./dbquery/menubar so it remained in the downgrade install.
