LibreOffice does not start

I have been using LibreOffice 6.4 for some months now on Windows 10, but today it would not open. So I downloaded LibreOffice 7.1, but even that will not open. Can you tell what the problem could be?

[Edit - Opaque] Shortened title (has been just the same as details)

Test (this is not a solution) whether LibreOffice user profile is causing the issue:

  • Right click -> Run on Windows Start menu (or Windows Key + R)
  • Type "%ProgramFiles%\LibreOffice\program\soffice" --safe-mode into Open text field (including the double quotes)
  • Click OK
  • Click button Continue in Safe Mode
  • Does LibreOffice start this way?
  • Provide feedback using add a comment about the test result.

Hello! I tried the above test, and it began in Safe Mode. And then I got a message saying that Windows is configuring LibreOffice and LibreOffice stopped. I was asked to restart the computer and when I did, LibreOffice had disappeared from the system. So I downloaded it again (7.1 version) and it started fine, and has been normal ever since.
Thanks a lot! And sorry for the delay in replying. I needed it desperately for an important presentation right then, so got caught up with that immediately.
Many many thanks!

Most likely the local profile is damaged.
On Windows, open your C:, open Users, there should be a folder with your use name.
There is a hidden folder named AppData.
You might have to make hidden things visible to see AppData.
Then, there are 3 folders: local, locallow, Roaming.
Check in each one. Anything related to LibreOffice should be backed up or move them out of those folders.

Then, open LibreOffice Writer to see if this helped.

Thanks! But, as I’ve mentioned above, the suggestion by Opaque led to a solution of the problem. Many thanks to all of you,
Amita
