Libreoffice draw, how to select and copy part of image?

How do I just select a square part of an image, copy it, and then paste it into another image as if it were Microsoft paint?

Draw is primarily for creating vector images, drawings if you like. For manipulating photographs and other bitmap images, I would recommend the GIMP but this might be overkill for merely cropping an image. On the other hand, skill in using the GIMP is worth having.

Your Linux distribution will offer some simple viewers with basic editing capabilities. See what works for you.

Right-click on the image.
Select crop.
Select the area that you want to export.
If not selected, select the cropped image.
Menu/File/Export
Select the file type to export.
Mark ‘Selection’ option.
Ok.

And if the image are vectors, first Convert - To Bitmap.
