LibreOffice Draw - Library

I’ve figured out a way to use a library, but it doesn’t let me import LibreOffice Draw (ODF) files into it… I need my draw documents to be in one document together but I don’t want to have to go to each individual file and modify it and then copy and paste or import it into the doc every time I want to change one small thing. Is there a way to do this?

I have one master document that requires the use of multiple other documents. I’m assembling. I need to be able to use my documents inside my main document, and I want to be able to edit the secondary documents and have it update in the master document, without having to copy&paste or re-import the document every time.

Windows 11 and the newest version of LibreOffice Draw is what I’m using. I think 7.4 or something like that

If we could better understand what you want to do, we could certainly suggest something. For the time being, reopen you question and elaborate more on your goal. It seems Draw documents are only an intermediate step in some larger work. Describe this workflow (what is the base material? How is it use? How do you manipulate it? What do you want to create with it? What’s the ultimate purpose?).

Don’t forget to mention OS name, LO version and since you want to import into some “document”, mention the save format of this “document”.

Reword your question instead of adding to it with a comment.

It’s been edited

As far as I know, master documents are specific to Writer. There is no such feature with Draw.

PDF files can’t be included (“imported”) directly in a Writer document (be it a master or a sub-document). It is considered as an image and ends up in a graphics frame. You can’t edit it.

You may mean a custom Gallery (Gallery Theme) or something similar.
I never needed it myself, but you should find more relevant information here.

Just tried it first time in my life. Worked as expected (descr5ibed).

Create a Master slide in Draw

That’s what I tested out but I can’t use ODF files with it, I have to export the documents into some format that ruins my quality, and then import it and it becomes uneditable. When I edit the document, it doesn’t change it in the master document, I have to re-import it and replace any existing versions

Recommendation for a clean working with LibreOffice when different office programs are used

@Hrbrgr: creating master slides in not equivalent to master document referencing sub-documents in Writer. A master slide is more like a template. Draw and Impress are nearly the same application. Master slides are more frequently used in Impress than in Draw. But I have never seen yet a whole presentation included into a “master” one just like you do in Writer to include a full document. If you know the trick, please tell me; I am really interested.

Not really certain why you’re hyperlinking this. I stated specifically that I use ODF docs and they will not load in the Gallery. I’m only using LibreOffice Draw.

@ajlittoz ,
Sorry, this happens because I did not read it correctly or only half.

@Hrbrgr: It happens to me too more than my share.

:joy: No worries, it happens!
