Libreoffice Draw opens files as images

Dear all,

Libreoffice Draw opens my files as images, so that they are not modifiable.
I have downloaded the latest version.
I have created a new file, and closed it - saved as a .odg - and when I open it again I can modify the design.
However, all my previous files are not modifiable.
Can you please help ? Thank you !
