LibreOffice Impress 5.1.0.3 does not correctly save presentation (ppt/pptx) with embedded video

If you insert a video file into Impress 5.1.0.3 (on ubuntu 14.04 64bit) and run the screenshow, the video plays as expected. However, if you save the presentation and exit impress and reopen impress and load the presentation the video is missing.

This occurs with both ppt/pptx file formats with Impress 5.1.0.3.

I believe the same issues are present in the previous versions of impress as I could never have a embedded video file, so had to resort to animated gifs. Having a link to a presentation isn’t an option.

Unclear why this problem hasn’t been picked up and resolved previously and was hoping 5.1 had the resolution

Cheers

Shaun

try turning off “controlled folder access” on windows defender, it was only allowing me to save into my downloads and not open any previous presentations i had made until i switched the folder access off and now everything is fine, hopefully this works

What type of file is your video? AVI, MP4, MOV ?
What codecs are used in the file?

I would like to test the same configuration.

Hi, its an MPEG-2 video. I’ve tried MP4s as well, and that leaves a grey box once the pres is saved and re-opened.

Had this problem, too, but I found a work-around. I saved it as .odp and it saved fine.
