LibreOffice Not Displaying PDF Properly

When I open a PDF file in LibreOffice, the fonts are all somewhat different with extra kerning between characters compared to how the file looks in Adobe Reader. Also columns are screwed up.
How come? The top image is how it looks in Adobe and the second image is the result in LibreOffice.
Is this an issue with fonts needed not being installed? But how come Adobe Reader doesn’t have a problem?
I’m using LibreOffice v 25.2.5.2.

LibreOffice doesn’t use the fonts embedded into PDF. Those are always subsetted; and using them wouldn’t allow to edit the document anyway. And of course, true PDF viewers do use those fonts (they don’t need anything else, they aren’t expected to provide related editing functionality).
LibreOffice is not a PDF editor in general. It may import something from PDFs into its document model; it may export its documents to PDF; but don’t expect true PDF editing experience.
