“Skin” for LO depends on widget interface module. I read from your screenshot that i3wm is probably based on GTK+. Then you should install the GTK+ LO-package. I don’t know for Debian. Under Fedora, it is called libreoffice-gtk3.

PS: you changed the UI for a ribbon-like one. This is not a good idea because it encourages to direct format your documents instead of styling them. This UI is offered only to ease transition from Word until you have understood the huge differences in methodology between both suites.
