I’m using LibreOffice 6. I have the habit of hitting ctrl-s often. My document, the one I’m currently composing contains 26 pages and a few equations and diagrams in it. It has 6 figures, which are OLE objects I created using LibreOffice 6 drawing (insert-> object-> OLE object->LibreOffice 6 drawing). I have LibreOffice 5 installed in a different system, which saves the same file faster. Is it possible for me to improve the saving time of LibreOffice 6 or should I revert to version 5? The file size is just 367 kB .
The save time for a document in the system that runs LibreOffice 6 is nearly 10 seconds, each time I hit ctrl-s. And until the save process is completed, I won’t be able to write anything (i.e., the save process does not happen in parallel). My processor is intel-i7 and contains 8 threads. The processor speed is 4.2 GHz. The RAM size is 16 GB.
