How can I get my documents to line wrap. Most programs do this automatically as the default. When I reduce the width of a page I want the text to wrap so that I can still read it. i.e. it becomes narrower & deeper

- When I reduce the width of a page: do you mean you change the page dimensions (A4 to A5 for example), page margins, …? Or do resize the window inside which the document is displayed?
LO purpose is to show you how your text will be laid out in the selected page. What you see on screen is only a part of it and formatting should not change with window size. To see more of document to the price of readability, use the zoom slider. - what kind of document are you processing?
If it is only a list of unstructured items, like a todo list without sophisticated decorations, Writer is overkill. Use a simple text editor. The all have an auto linewrap function. - mention OS name and LO version
