links in docx document not working in libreoffice writer

I’m using libreoffice 7.0.3.1(x64). I received and opened a .docx file. The hyperlinks do not work. When I examine the links I see that the URL field contains only “about:blank”. The links work if I open the file using Microsoft Word.
I don’t have any information about the version of Word that was used to create the document, but knowing the source I’m pretty certain that is a recent one.

Is this a libreoffice bug or incompatibility with Word?

I had lots of problems with .docx files in OO and LO. I’d say it’s a compatibility issue.
