Links to slide in exported pdf

Hey
Ive go this little issue. I have presnetation made with ‘Impress’ where i have ‘menu’ that can follow you to excact slides.
However when in export whole presntation to pdf there is no any links working

Its weird because in ‘Writer’ - when you do the same - you have menu with links to specyfic page - and you export it to pdf - it works.
In "impress’ no.

Can you fix that? or mayby tell me what im doin wrong?

Have you checked the export options?

  • Item General (top left corner) select bookmarks (in general)
  • Item Links: See screenshot.

No it dosent work. I ve tested it many times Ive notice that when you will make interaction like ‘go to next slide’ or ‘go to prewious slide’ - it works

Hovewer if i will set ‘spectfic’ slide - it dosent.

Try this for your self - make empty prestantation. Make 2-3 slides. In first make object and set ‘interaciotn’ ‘go to page 3’ and export it to pdf.

Second interessting thing - Ive downloaded almost all open source software like open office. Each one of them have this same issue. Exacle the same.
Only Power Point from MS can export to pdf with working links

Ok i found a solution.

Upoload file (best is PPTX format) to google drive and open it with ‘Google presentation’ then go to FLIE>DOWNLOAD>PDF
all links works fine.
Now also u can modify file directly by website. So using LibreOffice is pointless for now.
I will back to this software when you will fix this problem.

Thank you, I tried what you suggested and it works. As an FYI, in Impress, somehow my links associated to objects located about 1 inch from the right margin were still there but they were about an inch to the right of the objects (so off the page). To make it even weirder, the links for objects away from margins were all working. The problem is definitely related to placement or recognizing location of links. Thanks for suggesting Goggle Slides!

To create clickable links to other pages in the presentation that translate to PDF, do not use the “Format - Interact” function: this only works during presentation mode. Instead use the “Insert - Hyperlink” feature.

Stepwise procedure

  1. Highlight the text that you want to act as a link, and select “Insert - Hyperlink” from the menu (or hit Ctrl+K)
  2. Click “Document” in the pane on the left.
  3. Click the button at the right side of the "Target: " text field. In the pop-up dialog, pages are listed. Select your target page, then hit the “Close” button. Finally, click the “OK” button to finish off.

There is no need to set specific options in the Export PDF dialog for this to work.
