So basically, the problem is… when using a background color with multiple paragraphs, the little white lines appear between paragraphs… regardless whether direct formatting or styles are used.
I’m running Windows 10 Pro, LibreOffice 25.2.3.2, and odt file format.
I needed to display a vector graphic flag across the margins of the front cover of a booklet. I needed to place text on top of the flag. I estimated the area of the text and, in gimp, I added a square with white paint & reduced the opacity so that some of the flag would show through. Then, I flattened the image and exported to PNG. I hung the image in a section and made the image the background. Then I inserted a frame on top of the image to hold additional text. Seems to work fairly well. I would sure like to know the best method to do this job. Any suggestions?

Is this a proposed solution to initial question or a question on its own? Seems to me different from OP. It would be better to ask a new question (optionally citing and linking this one if there is the same “white lines” mishap). Don’t forget to mention OS name, exact LO version and save format. A sample file will be appreciated to evaluate your present procedure and suggest improvements.
