LO crashes trying to create Firebird DB

LO version: 6.2.2.2 (x64)
LO crashes when trying to create a new Base DB using Firebird. The Document window opens, etc
LO will create a HSQLDB reliably.
Makes me reluctant to even bother trying to convert any of my existing DBs to Firebird.
Any ideas??

Hello,

Have been working with LO Base and Firebird embedded for over a year now without this type of problem. Current version is 6.2.3.2 on Linux Mint 18.3.

You have not mentioned your OS. Also where did you get your version of LO from?

You may want to reset your user profile → LibreOffice user profile.

Will not pull any punches here. There are some startup issues still open but fixes available. After this, it is a great improvement over the HSQLDB embedded DB.

If you want to use Firebird, check the box under Tools>Options>LibreOffice>Advanced in the “Optional features” check box next to “Enable experimental features”.

@Hrbrgr That setting is no longer needed in current versions just to use Firebird.

Thanks @Ratslinger, but I wonder why this is still in the extras menu queried.

With Advanced turned on, when accessing a HSQLDB file you will be prompted to convert to Firebird. When off, no prompt.
