The latest Draw program does not allow me to export the drawn image as SVG file.
Export menu brings the typical SAVE window which only includes PDF format as an option.
Do I need to change any settings?
I tried vrious setting change to no avail.

Be sure to list what version you are using as well as the operating system. The export options appear the same in Version 7.6.4.1 (X86-64) to Windows as in earlier versions.
The File menu offers two choices. Export As offers Export as PDF and Export Directly as PDF. Export, however, allows you to save the file or the selection in an SVG format or many other formats.

For unknown reason, newly installed Calc does not show any file format on
Export menu except for PDF.

Your question asks for export from Draw, but your comment refers to Calc. In either case, selecting Export will open a Save dialog with a number of available Save formats. One option for Draw is SVG. Tested on
