LO NOT using my default template

Two problems here:

![|177x25](file:///tmp/lu244088gg694u.tmp/lu244088gg69u5_tmp_b1a20710e074d579.png) 1. While I am editing a document, suddenly it randomly decides that my paragraph style is “Default Paragraph”!

No where in my template do I call for “Default Paragraph St”! All of my templates specify “Text Body”! Why is the “Default Paragraph St” randomly over-riding my settings? I have deleted all templates in ALL of the specified directories [1], [2], [3,] and put in my template! Why is LO NOT responding to my definition?

I have followed the instructions, many times, in “Setting a default template”: Setting a default template - Apache OpenOffice Wiki

Aside: The document instructions contain and error, or using a different version of LO than what I am running. Mine says “Manage Templates”, yours says “Organize”.

Using LO Ver 7.3.7.8 Linux 5.15 1.7.3.7-0Ubuntu0.22.04.4

[1] /home/fred/.config/libreoffice/4/user/template

[2] /usr/lib/libreoffice/share/template/common;

[3] /usr/lib/libreoffice/share/template/en-US

  1. I tried to follow the instructions, many times, in “Setting a default template”:

https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Writer_Guide/Using_a_template_to_create_a_document

However, my options when I click “Manage Templates” does not show the directories shown in your article.

My screen: Your screen:

Your screenshots don’t display. Fix this please.
Have you notices you reference openOffice Wiki, not LibreOffice Wiki. OpenOffice, though the ancestor of libreOffice, has not been updated for ages.

Have a look at Horizontal line style. If I recall correctly, it defines the next paragraph as Default Paragraph Style. You should edit Horizontal Line to set next paragraph to Text Body.
