LO Writer Opens Document Past Top of Screen on Raspberry Pi How move with keyboard

I am working on R Pi. When Writer opens document , the top of doc, including the menus are off the top of the screen. So the doc is unusable since I cannot access menu, as well as top of doc.

All new docs open with same problem.

Are there keyboard short cut keys for moving the doc down?
Are there keyboard short cut keys for cascading the open docs windows, as in Windows.

I know this was addressed before, but the answer given was for Windows. LO Writer Opens Document Past Top of Screen). The answer here is

Alt+Space.
M
Use arrow keys to move the window.

But that opens Read Only Content Dialog box

I have found answer to the question on line, but the are all wrong, such as alt with arrow keys.

Thank you for any help

Can you access some edge of the document border? If so, hover the mouse over this edge until the cursor changes to a resize arrow.

  1. Shrink the window to some smaller size (say half screen width and height).
This does not move the top which is still off-screen, jut reduces window size.
  2. Save the document with Ctrl+S.
  3. Quit
  4. Reopen the saved document.

If menu bar is still unavailable, redo the procedure until the window is small enough to fit in your screen.

But the point is I can not shrink the window height because the document borders are WAY off the screen. If I could access borders, I would able to fit onto screen.

That is why I wanted to move the doc; so I could access the borders.

So this is a question for your operating system. On a quick internet search I found several different keyboard shortcuts but I think Alt+F11 to maximise the screen might be the one.

Test in a visible window what is shown with Alt+Space (in the page referenced by @EarnestAl).
Some page says holding the Windows key + Arrows keys (but can’t test here).

Does holding ALT while clicking and dragging in the window work?

Which OS for the Pi?
Which kind of Pi?
What screen is connected?

In Libre Writer, Alt-F11 opens the macro menu, not maximize.
But maximizing would not help since when I restore, it would go back to the original off-the-screen size.
I will note that in the list of short-cut keys you listed, there is no move. Most of those do not work in Write, although they do work in the RPi text editor.
I am running Raspbian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) but am using a keyboard for Windows.
I did hit reply to your post, but it looks like it did not open under your post but instead like a new one.

No. The part of the window I would need to click on is unreachable.

Any part of the window??

I can click on some parts of the window but Alt Dragging has no effect.
I testing that on several other apps, such as the Pi text editor and the Pi browser. I need to click on title bar to move window. Adding holding the Alt key seems to have no effect.
I know the list of Pi shortcuts say : Ctrl + Esc opens the system menu but that does not seem to work in any of the apps I have tested it on, including Writer.

The LibreOffice window is controlled by the operating system.
This thread here has a suggestion that isn’t clearly described, https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=264645
The comment I was looking at is below.
To use strictly keyboard commands then:
[Alt] [Space] x to maximize
m to move using arrow keys then [Esc] to cancel moving...
Several other options as shown in the popup list.

Possibly, they mean Alt + Space then M then arrow keys to move? Then Esc to finish when you get to an edge so you can resize. That would be identical to the Windows keyboard method.

What resolution is the Pi outputting to the HP monitor?

I have a RPi 5 connected via HDMI to a TV at 1080p and don’t see this problem, but I have experienced it previously with a Pi3b.

There should be a way to force the Pi to output in a resolution supported by your monitor that allows you to get LibreOffice sized to the screen resolution.

Offhand, maybe try turning off overscan in the Pi config.txt file. Perhaps in the Pi forums you might find a similar question.
