is there a way to make rounded page borders in libreoffice writer? i cant find that option in the borders options.
Presently, you can’t.
This is related to the general LO box model. A box is a rectangle, full stop.
There is an ugly workaround, though. But I don’t recommend it because it needs a lot of manual work and does not coexist well with text flow.
- open Draw to make the desired “shape”
- with the Text Box tool, create a text box containing one space (necessary because empty text causes deletion of the empty text box)
- while it is selected,
Format
>Line
to give it a visible border - go to
Format
>Position & Size
- tab
Position & Size
to set the desired size - tab
Slant & Corner Radius
to set the corner radius
- tab
Copy the shape. Paste it into the header or footer (which needs to be enabled in the page style).
Right-click on the shape and Position & Size
. Set the parameters for the position.
Note this a Drawing Object. It lives in a different space than your text. It also means you can’t control its position with a style, i.e. any change will be manual.
thank you. i may post is as a feature request in the bugzilla so.
