Locked topics don't allow posting updated answers

I wanted to provide an answer to an older question because the feature requested by the OP had just been implemented.

However, the topic is locked.

Maybe there was a good reason to lock that topic, or maybe now’s a good time to reconsider topic locking. In a Q&A format, it’s desirable to provide new answers as they become available.

For more thoughts on why locking threads is a questionable idea, please see my post that got reddit to change their default 6-month policy.

Since long, we don’t close topics anymore. But there, it seems it was the author who decided to close. What can your question here at “site feedback” want to achieve, if it’s not a site policy?

and No suitable option to select for closing question in scenario of no answer and bug reported

Happy to learn auto-closing is not a site policy! Feel free to close this question

@Bort: feel free to reopen the question if you want to receive answers.
