Lost images for slide show

I changed from Open Office Impress for a similar problem. This seemed to be going well until suddenly All ( over 100 ) images are gone.
I have scanned photos using insert media, then cut and edited and saved as BMP. Then I inserted as insert images.

Everything seemed to work for DAYS.
The photos still show in the LH sidebar.
I have a screenshot, but don’t see how to attach.
This is my first time here although I got help in OO.

Sorry for the floundering. NOW OVER 10 MINUTES LATER, the images are disappearing from the sidebar. I also find that ALL the images had NOT left the slides
