LOWriter: Repasted document into a new document: Need to batch replace all bullets with styled bullets: possible?

Greetings

I’m having HARD time with LibreOffice Writer and I am trying to make it work BUT I had to re-paste my entire document without the styling.

  1. How do I batch replace all bullets with styled bullets?

Let’s assume that you have pasted as unformatted text so the indents, bullets and tabs are replaced with spaces and bullets.

  1. Create a paragraph style with bullet list style linked to be used for the bulleted paragraphs.
    1. Right click List 1 paragraph style (under Body text > List) and select Edit style
    2. In the tab Outline & List Apply List Style Bullet •
  2. Copy a character from Special characters that is not used in your document, e.g. ¥
  3. Select the spaces and the bullet (might be 4 spaces, bullet, space) from one of the list items and copy
  4. Open Find & Replace (Ctrl+H)
    1. See that the spaces and bullet have been populated in the Find field
    2. Tick Regular Expressions
    3. Copy and paste the ¥ into the Replace field
    4. Click Replace All
    5. Copy and paste the ¥ into the Find field
    6. Click Find All and then double click the List 1 paragraph style in the Sidebar
    7. With nothing in the Replace field and the ¥ still in the Find field, click Replace All. Close

Why?
IMHO it will not give errors here, but neither searched term nor your suggested replacement is a regular expression.

@Wanderer thank you for the correction. I started going down a different route but forgot to delete that step when I changed direction.

Thanks for this but it is still vague!

#2, #3 in your original reply are vague! Can you explain more the exact steps?

SOlved I got it

THanks a lot for this!

ok so NOT solved yet

I ran the steps but some bullet points are not the same indent as all the others?

Any idea why this is and how I can solve it?

solved after some tinkering
