In writer, when one types a space, double hyphen and another space, it is automatically changed to an “m” hyphen. Proper usage of m hyphens are not supposed to have spaces on either side. After changing to an m hyphen, writer needs to automatically delete the spaces before and after instead of one having to manually do this each time.
