mac, freezing, force quit

I have a late 2015 iMac running OS 10.11.3, and just installed Libre Office a few days ago, after a friend suggested it instead of OpenOffice. Open Office is still installed as well.

TodaY IN USING BOTH CALC AND WRITER I AM FINDING THAT LIBREOFFICE IS FREEZING - SPINNING COLORFUL WHEEL, GO TO FORCE QUIT AND it tells me that LibreOffice is not responding. (Sorry about the CAPS), not yelling

I installed Java JRE today, as I also was using the database earlier.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tony

I have this problem too on my MacBook Air, 2015 I think, running Sierra. Libre Office Writer freezes for an annoying period of time. If I wait, it does come back. Or you can get out of Libre Office by clicking on the background, though when you return to Libre Office, it is still frozen. Only comes back in its own time, often its just a minute or two (seems like forever if you just want to get on with stuff).

I don’t have this problem with my 2011 MacBook Pro.

Are Libre Office just hoping this will go away? I have seen other complaints about Libre Office freeze issues on Macs.
