Mac installer fails

Hi I’m trying to install the Mac version 4.4 under Yosemite. The install screen with an arrow comes up but the expected icon for the program and the application folder don’t appear and the wheel just spins. I tried Apache Openoffice and the exact same behaviour happened…

Any ideas?

I don’t have a reference machine to try this on for you but I wonder if the problem might be on 32- vs 64-bit version and the Java installed on your machine. Have you tried installing the 6x version out currently? Tech Specs says it can be installed on Yosemite.
