On Writer the top toolbar has descriptions and icons, for example the text ‘New’ and an image of the new icon. These icons are above the standard toolbar - I added them.
How do I remove the text description and leave the icon?

probably you need to:
Tools -> Customize -> Tab: Toolbars- Select the Target toolbar (e.g.
Standard) - Click the icon right to the target tool bar
- Click
Icon only
