MacOS 7.5.5.2 Calc crashing when selecting column

Hi

Running Libre Office 7.5.5.2 on a new Mac Mini M2 (Ventura 13.5) . When opening a brand new calc document and selecting a column it causes the colour spinning wheel to pop up. Not evening copying the column, just selecting it. In safe mode it is OK, in fact after changing any setting like language interface (English - German), or disabling graphic acceleration Skia etc. and restarting it is OK the first time you open a document and edit it. But if you close Libre Office and open the same calc document again or a new calc document and click on a column tab the wheel pops up again and spins endlessly. Partly, the reason we bought the new computer was Libre Office updates on High Sierra were no longer supported. Enabling/Disabling full disk access also does not seem to help, same with graphic acceleration/Skia enabling/disabling.

Anyone else encountered such problems and found a solution? Starting always in safe mode or toggling the language option etc. before use is hardly practical.

I have since downloaded 7.6 and that seems OK. At first selecting columns seemed a bit strange, sometimes they needed to be double clicked to highlight, other times just once - bit erratic. But then I disabled Skia under Preferences/View and it was much more like normal.

Maybe I just had a bad 7.5.5.2 download - but I am not about to try it again. Before I installed 7.6 I removed the old version, deleted the profile in ApplicationSupport/LibreOffice and also deleted a preferences file I found under Preferences.
