MacOS: Assigning macro to shortcut.

I have been following the same procedure I have successfully used on Windows and Linux but my MacBook running Catalina will not execute macros assigned to shortcuts. The UI apparently lets me override “command D” with my macro but the default “Double Underscore” executes instead.

Am I doing something wrong?

Yes. You don’t describe what you are doing exactly, which is wrong because does not let give you a meaningful answer. Read these guidelines and ask a good question.
