Margin Notes Feature for Technical documents

Margin Notes is something that I miss in many programs - word processors and dtp programs.
Like footnotes and endnotes, in a technical document margin notes is a very valuable feature. Workaround is to add text boxes to the margins (center column or left / right margins) - but it is always maintained manually. TeX / LaTeX have feature for margin notes and it is very usable in technical documents.

Is it possible to implement this feature in LibreOffice?

Hi - Since version 4.3 (details here) the comments may be printed in the margin. This does not meet your needs?

I’m not OP, but I don’t think so. Have a look at these examples – I think that’s the idea. See also this TeX.Stackexchange Q&A, plus the “sidenotes” tag there.
