Merge To PDF Form Fields

I have a four page pdf with form fields. I would like to merge and print with 500 (approx) names, addresses and other personalized information.

Can this be done through LibreOffice?

There is mail-merge in LibreOffice, but i don’t know of an direct possibility to use your pdf.

I guess you’d have to recreate the form in Writer.

In wich format are you 500 rows of data?

Yes, this is possible, but not with form fields. WIth form fields you manually enter data into some database or you enter data into form fields to be stored with the containing PDF document. I think, you want an ordinary meil merge with PDF as output medium. Where are the address data stored?

Sorry, just found the comment button. My two “Answers” should have been in this comment field.

I have found my PDF software (CutePDF) can import .fdf data files. My data is stored in a spreadsheet created by LibreOffice. I can save it in any LO format that I can convert to an .fdf file. I am still looking for a way to do that. Any ideas from that?

But you do not want anybody to type data into the PDF document. You already have the data in your sheet. You can not edit your spreadsheet through PDF forms.
Therefore you do not want form controls in the PDF. You want to merge spreadsheet data into PDF documents.
menu:File>New>Database…
Connect to existing database.
Type: SPreadsheet
Point to the spreadsheet document.
[X]Yes, register this database.
Save the database. Close the database It does not contain any data. Your data are still in the spreadhseet… Nothing has been converted, copied or imported.
Open a Writer document.
menuView> Data Sources
Expand your database, expand tables, pick the right table, wait for the data arrive in the right pane.
Drag column headers from the right pane of the data source window into the text document. This will add placeholders for the list data.
Print the document. Answer the question about form letters with “Yes”.
A dialog pops up where you choose “File” as output medium.
Click OK and choose file type PDF.
Open the resulting PDF.

https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/download/file.php?id=41524 is a most simple mail merge from the “Bibliography” database which is shipped with the office suite.
Download the file, print, confirm serial letter, choose “File” and file type PDF.

Sorry Wanderer, yours was the first response and I failed to scroll up. Also, not sure if my commenting in this way is correct under the new AskLO layout. Anyhoo, my data is in a spreadsheet. I need to find out what the .fdf text file looks like as Vute PDF can import. Not sure if their free version does, but I’m thinking I’m getting close. I can probably create one in LO. Will keep trying.
